Warm Cinnamon Pears

An Autumn Embrace

On its own or as a topping, warm cinnamon pears have the seasonal touch of an Autumn embrace. A ripened pear in the kitchen fruit bowl is truly a gift.

Under the faucet of the sink, water washes away lingering debris. Onto the cutting board — I cut it into cubes, heating the pan on low before tossing them over the heat. Sometimes a splash of water is all it needs, or even nothing at all, only the dusting of cinnamon to taste, until they’re warm enough to eat.
